Chrysalis

Chrysalis is a project of the Singapore International Foundation, under
the Rebuilding Lives Programme and Youth Expedition Project.

A long stretch of Sri Lanka's Coast was devastated by the tsunami, with more than
40,000 dead, mostly children and the elderly. A staggering 2.5 million people were
displaced. Although 1,600km from the epicentre, the waves struck with huge force and
swept inland as far as 5 kilometers. Waves as high as 6 metres had crashed into
coastal villages, sweeping away people, cars and even a train moving between Colombo
and Galle, with 1700 passengers. It was the worst human disaster in Sri Lankan
history.

Our team will be journeying to the port city of Galle, at the southern most point in
Sri Lanka, to set up an I.T School and to help assemble beds and furniture for the
displaced people. I'll be back on the 14th..Show your support! call me and i'll sell
you a stack of post cards haha.

CAN YOU FEEL THE HEAT

It's been just sun and more sun, with 200% relative humidity for the past
few weeks here...i'm sure you've all realised that there is no such
thing as a 'standard' weather pattern anymore...at least not in this part of
the world, as i stay indoors but still get reminded of the blazing outdoors...

but then today, i awoke to grey skies and a rumbling, angry group of clouds, and i
thought...yes:
